“First question: what exactly is an omnimage?” Nergalan began his questioning.

“Exactly what it sounds like,” I answered simply. “I have every school of magic at once, allowing me to use the abilities and spells that any mage is capable of without any limitations beyond my own skill in magecraft and personal reserve of magic, both of which are growing exponentially.”

“The training would be absolutely immeasurable to learn every possible mage spell and ability,” the chief scholar commented, “a mage can spend their whole life mastering their magic with only one school of magic. With hundreds of magical disciplines to master, you would need to live just as many lifetimes!”

“It’s actually a lot easier than you would think.” I tried not to sound like I was bragging. “A lot of mage quirks are pretty transferable between mage schools. I also have a pretty good track record of being able to nail the basics of a spell or ability just by seeing or conceptualizing it.

“You can learn magic just from witnessing a spell?” Nerg laughed. “I would doubt if even a master wizard could pull something like that off, and they have the widest variety of spells amongst all mages. Even so, there are so many different kinds of mages in the world. How would you go about gathering all of their magical abilities to crack the slimmest beginnings of your potential?”

“It’s not just the abilities as I see them,” I said, “I also have randomly generated abilities as I grow in my magic. My own magic develops as I train with it, but I sometimes just have other mage abilities, which further helps in opening up more options to further develop my magic and power overall.”

“I assume that you can use many of these abilities in tandem with others.” The mage scholar rubbed his face with his hand. “Amazing. You would be a one-man army of mage masters. If you managed to completely master your powers, you would be nearly godlike, able to overcome any obstacle in your path.”

“I know. I’m excited.” I got a little giddy. “Imagine if I got some formal training!”

“No training?” Nerg was aghast. “Would the Golden Feather not have seen to that? Although, now that I think about it, there were quite a few cultist insurgents within their ranks. I doubt they would have just stood by and let the Feather cultivate the ultimate mage under their noses.”

“That wasn’t the first plan.” I corrected him. “The Golden Feather had no intention of creating me when they set out with their plan.”

“Well, then that begs the next question.” Nerg’s focus on me was a little distracting. “How did you become an omnimage?”

“The short answer is that I got a bunch of magic seeds shoved into me at once by a dead paladin as a desperate attempt to keep them out of Grune’s hands,” I answered, “do you know what a Seed of Voloth is?”

“The unfiltered seed of the tree tended by the dryad matriarch Voloth, yes,” he
